When Netflix gets rid of streaming, Slack is left to run the show: Recode

Apple is getting rid of the ability for users to stream movies and TV shows on Slack, as the company will soon cease using Slack for that purpose.

Slack’s discontinuation comes at the end of the year, and many have speculated that the move would result in Slack users being left with only a streaming app, or simply the ability to use Slack for a chat and video call.

But that’s not the case.

Slack has become a popular platform for collaboration and collaboration, so it makes sense that it would continue to serve those needs.

For users that still want to use it, however, Slack will be able to continue to provide a means of communicating with others.
